DEAD MEADOW (LA, USA) tour Australia this October!

Heathen Skulls, Street Press Australia and The Thousands ( are proud to present the return of Los Angele’s most psychic hard rock ensemble, DEAD MEADOW! Now featuring their original drummer Mark Laughlin. At the forefront of new psych revival, Dead Meadow have been jamming out riffs since 1998 with a total of five full lengths, one live record and a feature length movie under their belts, all of which have been released on such esteemed labels as Tolotto Records (owned by Joe Lally of Fugazi) and Matador.

Dead Meadow were the first band ever to record a Peel Session’s out side of the BBC Studios, this was recorded in Fugazi’s home studio, and their live album “Got live if you want it” was produced by Brian Jonestown’s Anton Newcomb, two more note worthy notches on the old DM belt.

Now that you know their past, it’s time to look to the future as this October Dead Mead will be returning to Australian shores to blast out a wave of sonic riffs into the minds of those in tune with their psychic cosmos.

It all starts with a warm up show in the industrial hard rocking wasteland, better know as Geelong, and ends with some psychic healing in the City of Churches, Adelaide!

Nadja (Toronto / Berlin) tour Australia in October!

Posted in news on October 6, 2010 by heathenskulls

Toronto born / Berlin based experimental drone duo Nadja are embarking on their first Australian tour.

And it starts this week! This tour is no to be missed!

Through some highly regarded releases, not to mention Aiden Bakers solo work, Nadja have created a world entirely their own. A world thats totally removed from the power electronics and harsh noise of most effects / electronics based experimental groups. Their world consists of textural layers of dream like drone thats best referenced to that of My Bloody Valentine and Sunn O)). Like a wall of fuzzy low end bass that hits you physically, Nadja have a reputation for creating vast sonic landscapes that are both cinematic and surreal.
